Thirty years ago Steven wrote his debut novel, Twin Lakes, but the origins of that book were born fifty years before. Twin Lakes, the first of a two-book saga, blends time travel with the unforgiving landscape of California’s Sierra Nevadas. Inspired by his lifelong experience camping in the Twin Lakes region, his firsthand knowledge of the terrain grounds his speculative storytelling in vivid, lived-in detail.
When he’s not writing, Steven draws inspiration from travel, music, and the outdoors, continually exploring new frontiers both in the world and on the page.
